Chapter 22. SUBDIVISIONS AND OTHER DEVELOPMENTS |
Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 22-2. Purposes.
The Libertyville Subdivision Code has been adopted for the following purposes:
(1)
To provide for the harmonious development of the village and its environs;
(2)
To establish reasonable design standards and procedures for subdivisions and other developments;
(3)
To provide for the preparation of subdivision and development plans and the procedures for submittal, approval and recording of plats of subdivisions in and about the village;
(4)
To protect valuable natural and cultural resources;
(5)
To guarantee the construction, inspection, dedication and acceptance of appropriate public improvements;
(6)
To provide for the coordination of new streets with existing or other planned streets;
(7)
To promote the logical arrangement of lots for future development;
(8)
To provide adequate storm drainage and flood control measures;
(9)
To provide for the dedication and acceptance of land required for schools, parks, playgrounds and other municipal public uses; and
(10)
To insure proper legal descriptions and monumenting of subdivided properties.
